What is an NYLN Resource Consultant?
Resource consultants are youth with disabilities who have attended National Youth Leadership Network (NYLN) leadership conferences. They have expertise (knowledge and skill) in areas that qualify them to help you in many ways. They can serve on boards and committees or give presentations. They can develop materials or support discussions about issues facing youth with disabilities.

What can an NYLN Resource Consultant do for me?
Resource Consultants have helped with many activities during the past few years. For example, Resource Consultants have spoken at federal conferences through the U.S. Social Security Administration and the U.S. Department of Labor. Resource Consultants have been asked to serve on city and state planning teams. College/university committees have requested support to improve campus or hire faculty. Other Resource Consultants have served on Governor's committees for education.

To request a Resource Consultant, please go to our online form or contact:

Resource Consultants give valuable knowledge and skill. The NYLN expects that all young leaders will be paid and/or reimbursed for their activities. This should be at levels that are similar to all other participants. Also, many young leaders may have limited income. Please, try to provide Resource Consultants with money, when they arrive, to cover their expenses if needed.
